More and more people are practicing techniques to improve their health such as meditiation, exercise and improved diet. Equally important is the number of people in the medical field who have witnessed the beneficial techniques that Reiki has had in patient care.
Reiki can:
Accelerate healing
Assist the body in clearing toxins
Balance the flow of subtle energy by releasing blockages
Aid in alcohol and addiction recovery
Help the client contact the "healer within"
Reiki pronounced "Ray-Key" is a Japanese techniquefor the reduction of stress and enhancement of relaxation that also promotes healing. It was discovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in the early 1900's. Reiki is administered by "laying on of hands"which as with other techniques have been practiced for thousands of years.
The word Reiki comes from two Japanese words "Rei" menaing universal is used in Reiki to mean "higher knowledge or spiritual consciousness." The word "Ki" meaning the same as Chi in Chinese "life energy"also known as the "vital life force or universal  energy."
Incorporating any form of alternative health therapy into the total  approach of wellbeing requires adoption of a new viewpoint. Making changes in nutrition and stress reduction can lead to marked improvement in pain management. One must think of the body as a collective whol to achieve the maximum benefit from alternative therapies.
During a Reiki session the energy used is correcting pain, but it also seeks out the original source of the illness. It therefore allows healing to take place in more than just the physical body. The illness 's source may be physical in nature, however physical problems are often symptoms of disorders in other layers of the body. For example, many stress related illnesses show themselves as problems such as ulcers and hypertension.
Reiki is perfect for stress management because it is so soothing. It encourages the relaxation response. That response alone comforts the non-physical aspect of the body to rest and heal in combination with the physical body.
Reiki really does have an expansive range and is truly a holistic healing art. It can be usedin any situation, in any manner. Reiki sounds, "to good to be true" but it's truth lies in it's simplicity. All things animate and inanimate are made of universal energy. The unbalanced flow of the life energy creates illness, balancing and restoring the flow of energy creates healing.
Reiki is taught in levels, referred to as "degrees."
Reiki I
The student is introduced to a simple meditation technique in order to prepare for Reiki I initiation. When ready, there is a transfer of energy that opens the student to a universal ray we call "Reiki". Thestudent then becomes a facilitator for channeling healing energy. Hand positions are introduced, as well as the chakra system, visualization, pulling off negativity, closing and ethics. In addtion, the Reiki Instructor gives the student the first power symbol used in Reiki II.
Reiki II
Introduces the symbols that are used to send absentee healing as well as symbols to work with issues such as past-life, karmic, mental healing and emotional healing.
Reiki (III) Master
This level is for those who desire to empower others with the complete system of holistic healing and with personal development. It is necessary to meditate on your life purpose and decide if Reiki Mastership is in harmony with your life purpose. The student is given new symbols to aid in energy flow. In addition, the student receives the highest attunements, instruction and practice in using the symbol in the complete Usui system.
Path to Empowerment
Reiki is one of the greatest gifts that you can give yourself and share with others. Reiki is all about love, balance and empowerment.
The gift of Reiki has forever changed my life. It is my desire to pass this information on to as many people as possible. I make a particular effort to help each student find their own inner gifts and use them to their fullest. Everyone of us is an individual, my teaching method is based on using that individuality to it's best purpose to achieve balance, love and peace.
I hope you will take the opportunity to experience Reiki and all the wonders that it offers.
